Verify the InformationÂ
Ensure the document includes the employee's name, relevant employment details, employer's information, and authorized signer's name and signature. Â
Arrange Proper NotarizationÂ
Have the authorized signer execute the document before a commissioned Florida notary public when notarization is required. Â
Review Employer-Issued RecordsÂ
Employment documents issued by private companies generally require proper notarization before submission for a Florida apostille. Â
Submit for ApostilleÂ
Submit the original properly notarized document to the Florida Department of State for apostille processing. Â
Important RestrictionsÂ
A Florida apostille verifies the eligible notarial or official signature, not the accuracy of the employment information. Confirm any additional requirements with the receiving country.
Required Certification
Employer CertificationÂ
The document should be signed by an authorized employer representative, such as a human resources manager, company officer, or supervisor. Â
Florida Notarization
Privately issued employment documents, including employment verification letters, experience certificates, and reference letters, may be submitted for a Florida apostille when they contain a properly executed Florida notarization.
The employer's authorized representative must personally appear before the Florida notary, either physically or through an authorized remote online notarization procedure, as applicable.
The notarial certificate must be in English and include the required venue, date, type of notarial act, signer's name, identification information, notary signature, and official seal.
The original properly notarized document must be submitted for conventional paper apostille processing.
Important Note
The apostille authenticates the notary's signature and authority. It does not verify the employer's statements or confirm an individual's employment history.
The Notarial Certificate Must Include • State and county of notarization • Date of notarization • Appropriate notarial act (acknowledgment or jurat) • Signer's name • Required identification or personal knowledge statement • Notary's original signature • Notary's printed or stamped name • Official notary seal and required commission information Â
Original Document RequirementÂ
Submit the original notarized document. Photocopies of the notarized document are not accepted.Â
Important NoteÂ
Documents issued by federal agencies or notarized in another state must generally be submitted to the appropriate federal or state apostille authority.
